A little Compass history:
This Skylight Binnacle mount compass sits in a magnificent, gleaming polished triple chrome on brass casing adorned with a chrome and glass "Skylight" top.
The 5 inch Diameter 2 Degree card floats in an oil filled Dome that lights red for glare free nighttime vision.
Its substantial size of 13 inches tall and 7 3/4 inches in diameter will compliment the finest yacht.
Calibration screws allow for fine tuning of the magnets after it is installed.
This compass was manufactured using the highest quality parts such as jewels used in the finest watches. Compasses made under the Danforth name during the later years of their manufacture were made with cheaper plastic mechanisms. As such, if ever needed, they're not worth repairing.
