Original RARE Confederate Bible Maryland Calvary Gettysburg Named Researched

Up for sale is by far one of the most remarkable items I have ever acquired. This is a real piece of American history. This Bible was the family Bible carried by a confederate Calvary officer who was present at the battle of Gettysburg.
William H. Dorsey was born in Carroll County to a prominent Maryland family in 1841. Dorsey enlisted in May 21st 1861 at Harpers Ferry Virginia as a private in the 1st Maryland Infantry, Company A. Dorsey was promoted to officer (2nd LT) in 1862. He served as First LT with the 1st Battalion Calvary until the end of the war. Dorsey was known as having blue eyes, being 6 feet tall, and having a fair complexion.
Dorseys unit served as part of Fitz Lee’s Calvary Brigade, who saw combat at Gettysburg. The commander of the unit Fitzhugh Lee was the nephew of Robert E. Lee.
This Bible comes with around 25 pages of research, all from Ancestry and Fold3 as well as other archival sources. Lots of great info in there, as well as diary entries from other soldiers describing some of the battles etc.
This piece is by far one of the rarest and most historically significant I have come across in a long time. You will not find another item like this. This is as rare as they come. Anything Maryland confederate is extremely rare.
