    Description

    I am offering up for sale this antique 1800's solid brass surveyer's transit in it's original box, there is an inlaid diamond on the top with the letter N in it and there is an "N" in a square underneath the instrument,the instrunent is approx. 12" long and the dial is approx.  4 1/2" in diameter, the silver dial has a fluer de lie, I do not know who the maker is, I though maybe Newell & Son, the bow is put together with square nails, there is also an applied silver strip on the one of the arms with measuring marks.  CONDITION: Seems to work very good, the 2 levels appear to have been repaired [soldered ] at some time, nice clean piece. Satisfaction is Guaranteed.
