    Description

    Rare red wool vintage 1800's fire shirt. Shirts like this this worn early in the war by fire department related units ,zouaves . Exact age of this shirt I cannot say. May be late 1800's. Monogram for Hook and Ladder on front bib . Has the early Scovill backmark buttons with the capital CO. after scovill. Some staining and small holes consistent with age. See pictures for detail and condition.  This is a small size shirt and measures 16 inches shoulder to shoulder and 17 inch sleeve length. I have been collecting a long time, see a lot of helmets , but very rarely see these come up for sale. Fair starting price with no reserve.
