    Description

    U.S. 1855 mainspring vise. This standard vise was used with all US muskets from 1855 to 1888 it has a slight offset bar, smooth pad and a US stamped on the upper face of the body. This vise is pictured on page 246 of (Gun Tools Their History and Identification.
