Vintage Ritchie Globemaster 5" Ship's Compass - No Reserve!.
Up for auction here is a very nice Ritchie Globemaster Compass.  It is in beautiful shape, showing minimal wear over its 47 years,  This is a 1974 model - see Ritchie manuals to look at their date codes.  This one shows B74, which is a 1974 model.  This compass was removed several years ago from a 1969 Manson 34' wood cabin cruiser.  It is a lighted model and it works as it should.  I hooked it up to a 12v source and you can see in the second picture what it looks like lit.  I also tested its accuracy against a compass that I know works and the Ritchie shows north in the same direction.  If you zoom in on the last picture, you can see the arrows of both compasses which are indeed pointing north as they should. I also got the same result when compared with the compass on my phone, but can't get pic of that!  It has one minor scratch which will buff out with little effort, you can see it in one of the pics - it shows between the 30 and 60 degree marks.  The light in a couple of the pics really seems to magnify scratches in the dome, but they are nowhere near as bad as they seem to be.  Other photos show it is clear and shiny and it does look really nice.  This is a great compass which is ready for service in your vessel.
